Welcome to Giddy: Roleplay Chat & Stories ("Giddy", "we", "us", or "our").

Giddy is a mobile application that lets you chat and roleplay with AI-powered characters and create interactive stories. We care deeply about your privacy and are committed to being transparent about the data we handle.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By downloading, accessing, or using Giddy, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2 Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run Giddy well and keep it safe. This includes:

Information you provide

• Account details — such as your username, email address, and password (or a sign-in token if you log in with a third party such as Google or Apple).
• Profile & preferences — display name, avatar, favorite characters, and settings you choose.
• Content you create — chat messages, roleplay conversations, custom characters, and stories you write within the app.
• Purchases — records of subscriptions or in-app purchases (processed by the app store, not by us directly).
• Support requests — messages you send us for help or feedback.

Information collected automatically

• Device & app data — device model, operating system, app version, language, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage data — features you use, buttons you tap, session length, and crash or performance logs.
• Approximate location — a general region derived from your IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location).

4 AI & your conversations

Giddy uses artificial intelligence to generate character replies and story content. To do this, the text you send may be processed by our AI systems and trusted AI service providers.

• Your conversations are used to generate responses in real time and to maintain the context of your ongoing chats.
• We may use anonymized or aggregated conversation data to improve safety systems and the quality of the AI experience.
• AI-generated content is fictional and created for entertainment. It may be inaccurate and should not be treated as advice.

5 Sharing & disclosure

We only share personal information in limited situations:

• Service providers — vetted partners who help us run Giddy (hosting, analytics, AI processing, customer support), bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal reasons — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Giddy, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers — if Giddy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
• With your consent — any other sharing you explicitly approve.

6 Third-party services

Giddy relies on reputable third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf, for example: cloud hosting, crash reporting and analytics, AI language providers, and the Apple App Store / Google Play for payments. These providers have their own privacy policies governing their use of information. In-app purchases are handled entirely by the app stores; we never see or store your full payment card details.

7 Data retention

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records by law or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

8 Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please help protect your account by keeping your login credentials private.

9 Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Delete your account and associated personal data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Port your data to another service.

10 Children's privacy

Giddy is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it. Where required by local law, a higher minimum age may apply.

11 International data transfers

Giddy may be operated from, and use service providers located in, countries other than your own. When we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.

12 Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Giddy after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
